In this essay I have conducted a comparative review of Mount Vernon’s physical historic site and their online counterpart MountVernon.org. While this historic site is massive and offers various learning experiences, I have chosen to focus on their presentation of the home itself and the virtual tour that is offered on their webpage. In this comparative review, I will discuss the interactive aspects of both the physical site as well as the digital site, who these experiences were designed for, and my suggestions for both experiences. This historic site is a staple in the Washington DC area and attracts thousands of visitors a year, having an equally as profound digital presence is essential for the organization in sharing the history of George Washington and life at Mount Vernon in the 18th century.
